Story
It has been pretty much a year now that I started growing my lockdown beard. I never thought it would be going on for so long!
People have asked me how long I would grow it and I would mumble some noise about cutting it off for charity, maybe to help Skateboarders internationally or something.
So here it is. I am good to my word and as some sort of sick celebration of the anniversary of a global pandemic. I am offering to cut my beard off for money. For a good cause of course!
So what is Skateistan?
"We are an award-winning international non-profit organization which empowers children through skateboarding and education in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. By combining skateboarding with creative, arts-based education, we give children the opportunity to become leaders for a better world. Our focus is on groups who are often excluded from sports and educational opportunities, especially girls, children living with disabilities and those from low-income backgrounds. We provide safe spaces where children can have fun, build their skills and confidence and break down social barriers by making new friends."
