Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Some of you may be aware I've faced some personal challenges over the past year, with major spinal surgery, followed by a minor stroke (TIA).  I'm delighted to say that I've made a great recovery thanks to great medical care and the love and support of Pete and of my friends and family, for which I'm truly grateful.

What better way to mark my birthday than to set myself a serious challenge, to ride my bike further than I've ridden in years, to celebrate and demonstrate my return to good health and mobility and to raise some money for a great cause - Macmillan cancer care.  So on 5th October 2014 I will be taking part in the Macmillan Cycletta at Scone Palace near Perth in Scotland and am attempting the 70k challenge.  Fingers crossed for strong legs, small hills and plenty of sunshine!

Here's how it works: You pay and I'll pedal.  Your support will spur me on and ensure I have to go through with this!  Pete did offer me a birthday weekend in Amsterdam so I realise I only have myself to blame!

More than one in three of us will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lives. Please help to make sure everyone has a Macmillan nurse by their side when they need it most.
