We raise life-changing funds to enhance care at UHS

Story

Charlie Bryant, Tim Bryant and Julian Smith are raising money for advanced cancer services in our NHS  (ACTION).  We are doing this for ACTION Urology, part of Southampton Hospital Charity (http://www.actionurology.co.uk)  and the PLANETS charity (https://planetscharity.org/).  We are based at University Hospital Southampton and provide advanced cancer services for a large tertiary cancer network across Wessex. We also provide a pelvic exenteration surgery for those people nationally who need to access this complex cancer surgery. For some, this includes intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) which is uniquely, in the UK, delivered at University Hospitals Southampton.

Ultimately, these treatments need huge resource and are either inadequately funded or not funded at all BUT they provide excellent cancer outcomes and for many represent their only and last potentially curative cancer option.

2020 has been an incredibly difficult year for everyone due to COVID-19.  Charity events and fundraising have been limited and therefore we've decided to row hard to support our charities and our patients.

We are extremely grateful for your help!
