For 28 years, as a Y staff member, serving the communities of South Montgomery County, I have witnessed first hand, over and over again, the IMPACT of the YMCA and the difference we make in people's lives.

The Y is a cause-driven organization for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. I am proud and honored to be a member of the YMCA CAUSE Squad Team. 

Over the past 12 months, the YMCA reinvented itself, almost overnight,  to immediately respond to the the needs of the community. Though our doors were closed for several months, the heart and mission of the Y was open and out serving the community where we were needed the most:  Essential Care Child Care, Food Distribution, Blood Drives and Wellness Checks on the Most Vulnerable Population. 

As I helped with food distribution, I will never forget the sinking and sad feeling, as I fought back the tears, seeing friends, neighbors and co/workers in line, for hours, in desperate need of food to feed their families. This scene repeated itself many times over the past year. My heart was broken but strengthened knowing we were able to help. 

The pandemic has had a financially devastating impact on everyone including the YMCA. Community need is great, and despite our current financial challenges, the Y is committed to addressing critical needs...but we can’t do it without your help.
