ENDING POVERTY, TOGETHER The world is hungry, but the emptiness goes far beyond the table. The need is physical and spiritual. People hunger for opportunity, starve for resources, and have been stripped of value. These injustices keep us up at night. Food for the Hungry UK is a registered charity that seeks to end all forms of human poverty by going to the hard places and walking with the world’s most vulnerable people.

This year I am running in aid of Food for the Hungry http://www.uk.fhi.net

In offering up my humble fund raising support to FOOD FOR THE HUNGRY (FH), I do so in the knowledge that FH are addressing the needs of communities in the very poorest countries of the world and in doing so are not just contributing money via multiple layers of bureaucracy but instead FH operate in a way that makes them stand out from a number of other international aid agencies;

1) FH have their own field organisations in each of the target project regions thus ensuring that all monies are directed where most needed without dilution of funds through bureaucracy and third party fees.

2) FH projects are aimed at long-term sustainability of food production, primary health care, sanitation, water supplies, skills training / income enhancement and education etc.,

3) FH actively encourages the local people to lead and work within the various projects, an approach which not only guarantees self involvement and retention of self respect / feeling of worth but also ensures that donated monies are directed to areas and activities most in need of the support and structured in a way to provide best possible benefit for the people in question.

I remember when we all supported Cancer Research in 2010 that many of you commented that the cause was very worthy and I can assure you that FH although an International aid charity, as opposed to a UK or US focused charity, is just as worthy of our much needed support.

FYI – Food for the Hungry is a global international aid organisation with major offices in the US and Canada and registered charity in the UK (328273). Please take just a few minutes to look at the FH website and to see in more detail the extraordinary work being done in by this charitable organisation in Bangladesh, Kenya, Uganda, Burandi and Bolivia etc.,

Finally, I really do hope that you can make a donation to help FH help these many desperate people through their very difficult lives. We take for granted the many facilities and luxuries we all have within our homes and lives today but to be born innocently into a life of starvation, violence and decease is something akin to a living hell and I hope we can do a little bit to help them.
