Story

Jason Addison and Steve Harris have completed the Lands End to John O Groats  cycle ride over 1040 miles! Cycling over 100 gruelling hours! Jason Addison, Joe Smith and Emily Wilkinson have completed the tough trek to the top of Ben Nevis the highest mountain in Great Britain! We are hoping these two great challenges will raise loads of money for my dad's memorial fund. All proceeds going to Birmingham Children's Hospital.

In 1960 my dad Roy Addison became ABA Middleweight champion of Great Britain. This fantastic achievement was swiftly followed with his selection into the British boxing team for the Olympic games in Rome also in 1960. He was so proud representing Great Britain in this fantastic sporting event. Roy Addison began the family business Addison Tyres in 1965 he worked very hard and 58 years later it is still going strong! Now run by Managing Director Jason Addison. We are all so very proud of him. A legend a gentleman and a great man he is greatly missed by all his family and friends. My Mom Betty Addison has sadly passed away in June 2023. She was a devoted wife, Mom and Nan. She was a lovely lady and always looking after her family, always at Dad's side through thick and thin. Love you all the world Mom & Dad 💔

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
