Dear all,

This Sunday, I’ll be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK.

I was inspired to run the Royal Parks for three key reasons: firstly, the fantastic cause; secondly, the fond memory of running the same course with my brother and sister 12 years ago; and thirdly, the 15th helping of pasta and tiramisu I tucked into while on holiday in Sicily this summer!!

These days, training has looked a little different, more multitasking than miles. Most of my preparation has involved carrying my daughter Penny around another, less well-known Royal Park, King Edward VII in Willesden, in the backpack, chasing Maggie the cocker spaniel, and navigating a very unofficial cross-country course.

The goal is to get somewhere close to my 2014 time - ideally 1 hour 40 or quicker!

I’m running for Prostate Cancer UK because 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. My family and I feel very fortunate that my Dad, Philip, was able to catch it very early and has had brilliant intervention to keep it at bay. The charity is doing vital work - investing over £100 million into research, treatment, and care - so more men can detect and navigate prostate cancer early and live longer, healthier lives.

I know we’re all inundated with fundraising requests, but if you’re able to support, I’d be hugely grateful:

Thanks and I'll let you know how I get on!
