Story
Prostate Cancer UK is a charity very close to our hearts. In January this year we lost Laura's Grandfather, Ray, or Pom Pom as he is affectionately known by his grandchildren. He was a larger than life character and we will miss him terribly. We want to find a positive way to channel our grief so we are taking part in the Royal Parks Half on Sunday 11 October 2026, running 13.1 miles for Prostate Cancer UK!
This will be Laura's first (and probably last) half marathon and Ben's second (and possibly last, we'll see how it goes) and is a huge challenge both for Laura in terms of actually running and for Ben in terms of keeping her going!
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with 1 in 8 affected, and the risk is double if you’re Black. That's thousands of grandads, dads, brothers, partners, and friends. The money we raise will help fund lifesaving research into better tests and treatments.
Just £8 pays to collect a blood sample which could be used to find new markers of aggressive prostate cancer to help doctors diagnose men earlier.
Prostate Cancer UK invests into lifesaving research and provides support to both men and their families as they navigate this disease.
Any donations to show support and to help us (Laura) get through training will be hugely appreciated!
