Story
I'm taking part in the Royal Parks Half on Sunday 11 October 2026, running 13.1 miles for Prostate Cancer UK. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with 1 in 8 affected, and the risk doubled if you’re Black. That's thousands of dads, brothers, partners, and mates. But it doesn't have to be this way.
Recently a very dear and inspirational friend has been diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer. No risk factors. No symptoms. No warning. It is vitally important that research into early diagnosis and treatment is properly funded.
I can't do the science but I can try to run the distance.
The money you raise will help fund lifesaving research into better tests and treatments to help men live long and live well. £8 pays to collect a blood sample which could be used to find new markers of aggressive prostate cancer and help doctors make earlier diagnoses. Prostate Cancer UK invests in lifesaving research and provides remarkable support to men and their families as they navigate this disease. Your donations help to make this possible.
Thank you from my heart for your generosity. Ax
