ANP Mel Baker-Hunt and Dr Ruth Bentley made the decision to run Manchester marathon in a moment of madness just after Christmas last year, and now the weeks are counting down. This will be Dr Bentley's first ever marathon and she will be running alongside our resident marathon runner and Active Healthy Lives Champion ANP Mel Baker-Hunt.

They have decided to fund raise for Weston Park hospital after a close friend was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, who is having life extending treatment under their care. Weston Park do a fantastic job caring for people from our area, and we don't think that they get the recognition or support they deserve for this.

They would love to raise £500 and will be carrying out other events over the course of the year to try and achieve this.
