Some of you will already know that we are passionate about the work of the World Owl Trust and as we live some distance away from the Centre based at Muncaster in the Lake District, fundraising activities such as this are a way we can contribute to their work.

On 29 March we will be taking part in a sponsored walk in Spain raising funds for the World Owl Trust. Along with Trust staff and other volunteers, we will be climbing 5 peaks, each higher than anything in the UK.

The money raised will be used to upgrade and extend the network of Barn Owl nest boxes across the UK. 70% of UK Barn Owls rely on nest boxes to breed successfully and the aim of our fundraising is to erect 100 Barn Owl nest boxes. Of course we are also hoping to increase awareness of the plight of Barn Owls in the wild.
