Fire Fighters Charity provides care and support to the UK’s fire family. It helps with any health and wellbeing challenges firefighters, control staff, and everyone working in – or retired from – the UK’s fire services, as well as their families, may face - during and after service

Story

2011 is the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York, in which 343 Fire Fighters lost their lives trying to save others.

Our Fire Station felt that this year was a particularly poignant year in which to conduct a major fund raising effort for the Firefighters Charity.

Therefore we will be entering a team of six runners into the New York Marathon who will complete the event alongside fellow American Firefighters on 6th November 2011.
