Trek to the Himalayas - Hemkund Sahib · 13 June 2017

The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

Hi I'm Ruben aged 13 years and decided I wanted to do this trek to Hemkund Sahib, a holy pilgrimage for Sikhs with my mum and grandparents. This is a 14km trek at an elevation of 15,000 feet. I decided to help raise funds for research into Autism as its a lifelong developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with, and relates to, other people. Early intervention can help greatly and I wanted to do something to help.
