Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving. I’m Ruby, I’m 12 years old and I have ADHD and Social Anxiety. ADHD makes me daydream a lot and find it difficult to focus, I have millions of thoughts in my head and I can be very hyper. All these thoughts give me a really good imagination and inspires a lot of the stories I write. But anxiety makes me self-conscious and always worried about what people think, and I overthink everything. Having anxiety helps me understand other people’s emotions and what they may be going through. When I was younger, people didn’t understand why I have difficulty focusing and ‘daydream’ a lot, and I felt like I was the odd one out and thought it was only me who was like this. It took a while for me to get a diagnosis and begin to understand that I wasn’t alone and millions of people have this condition as well. Me and my Mum decided it would be a good idea to help people like me by raising money for a charity to support young people. Lots of our friends are doing things to raise money for charities, so I thought I could sing a song every night live on Facebook, which would take a lot of courage for me to do, but I enjoy singing so that’s what I’ve decided to do. I have chosen YoungMinds as the charity to donate to, its to raise awareness of people just like me who have conditions like this and can lead to problems with their mental health. Once a day for one week , I will sing one song live on Facebook to raise money. Please be kind 😊 Ruby x
