We are raising money to build water wells and water hand pumps on behalf of our dear grandmother Anwar Begum, who passed away in the holy month of Ramadan. Our grandmother was the core of our family, a wonderful combination of warmth, kindness, laughter, and love.  

We are hoping to build deep water boring wells and hand pumps so that she can reap the rewards of those that it benefits, as part of Sadaqah Jariyah. Sadaqah Jariyah means 'a continuous, ongoing charity'.

The wells and hand pumps will be located in remote areas where villagers would usually have to walk miles in hot weather with buckets. The charity will source the water deep into the earth and dig deep down to set up pipes and taps, so the needy can have access to safe and fresh drinking water. 

Everybody that knew my grandma will agree that she was a kind, generous, and giving person who always put others before herself.

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’.
