Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with blood cancer. Founded in 1974, by growing our register of stem cell donors, conducting research and supporting patients, Anthony Nolan cures blood cancer and blood disorders. But we need to do more. Without you, there is no cure.

Story

They say rowing is all about the legs. Well, on the 20th October, RUMSBC are putting this to the test and swapping the Thames for the tarmac and tackling the infamous London to Paris route. We have been clocking some serious training miles, with a squad-wide 120km training cycle to Brighton in June and our A-peloton is hoping to reach Paris in under 22 hours, with the B-peloton following closely behind.

We have chosen to support Anthony Nolan because blood cancer affects so many people, including a member of our boat club, so the issue is close to home. This year, the club has helped UCL Marrow to recruit 385 new donors to the register and we hope to continue to increase this number through fundraising and boosting awareness with our Paris cycle.

With the cycle only 2 and a half months away, we have a rigorous training regime ahead of us, so please keep our spirits high and our legs powerful by donating to our cause!

A little bit about Anthony Nolan:

Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. They do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells, to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. They also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. They won’t stop until they save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings them closer to that day.
