Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you know I work for Havens Hospices as their Press Officer. I am very lucky to have a job that I love doing and allows me to spend most of my days meeting and listening to inspirational patients, their families and friends and all the other amazing individuals who give up their time or raise money to help Havens Hospices continue 'Making every day count' for all who need us. I am also lucky to have been able to get to know the amazing care staff, all the other staff who support them and enable them to do their jobs, from housekeeping and maintenance to the events and fundraising teams; they all play a vital part in what Havens Hospices is.
I have been so inspired by all who I've met over the past 8 months and have really seen how much of difference the hospices have made to adults, young adults, children and their families across Essex I decided I wanted to give something back and help raise some money as well.
But then came the tricky bit... what to take part in?! Well I turned 30 this year and I had said last year that as a birthday present to myself I wanted to achieve something I'd never achieved before in every quarter of the year and I've done 10K's before and a 12K obstacle race... but I've never done a Marathon. So for my 3rd quarter challenge that's what I'm doing!
I've never run a Marathon and I've never been the 'sportiest' of human beings so please donate what you can and spur me on to complete potentially the biggest challenge of my 30 years on the planet and help me help an amazing charity to continue doing what they do best - care for members of our community for as long as they're needed.
