Running Down Dementia is a great way to get moving and to keep track of your amazing efforts. With every step you take, youll help fund major breakthroughs in research and give hope to the 34 million people affected by dementia.

Story

I've joined #TeamARUK by signing up to Running Down Dementia 2021 because I want to help Alzheimer's Research UK make breakthroughs possible. We're currently in a time where our personal wellbeing is more important than ever and by taking on this challenge, I will be raising vital funds for dementia research. One in three people born today will go on to develop dementia in their lifetime, so please help me reach my fundraising target by giving whatever you can using the 'Donate' button. The more people know about Alzheimer's Research UK, the greater their impact, so please spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
During July and August I am taking part in the “Run Down Dementia Challenge” where I run a total of 100K. I intend running 3 5Ks a week for two months (which should take me beyond 100K). I will be doing this whether at home in St Monans, on holiday around the UK, or visiting friends and family.
As some will know, my mother suffered from Dementia for some years, eventually not knowing who I was but knowing I was someone she loved and who loved her.
A wonderful charity in Aberdeen, The Living Well Project, has for a number of years run cafes for those suffering with memory loss, and it was my privilege to be there at its inception.
If you can support my run, please give through the JustGiving page link. And give me a wave if you see me out running.
Thank you.
