Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
As many of you will know, our team of fundraisers have been undertaking foolish activities for over 3 years now to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Many of us have personal reasons for raising money for this charity. Steve lost his father to the disease when he was 9 years old and Gordon lost his Gran to the disease only last year. It is hard to find someone who hasn't lost someone close to them to cancer as it affects 1 in 3 people in UK.
Since 2006, the team have undertaken the Run-For-It Challenge (Steve and Gordon ran a marathon or half marathon every calendar month for a year including the London Marathon and the Himalayan 100 Mile Challenge), the 60-30 Challenge (Steve ran 2 half marathons every day for 30 days), the Pig Pull Challenge (Steve and Gordon cycled a tandem bike pulling our big piggy bank from Glasgow to London over a 3 week period).
This year, the team are planning to carry the Piggy Bank around the London Marathon.
We have a target of raising a further £16,000 in 2009 on top of the £95,000 that we have raised already. Please give all that you can to this great cause. The only reason for undertaking these challenges is to encourage people to donate money to Cancer Research UK and any donations, no matter how small, are gratefully received.
Thanks very much,
Pig Run Team 09!
