Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you will know I got into running four years ago, and unbelievably I've enjoyed it!  As a marathon is a long way (26.2miles to be precise!) then I needed a good cause to spur me.

It's ironic that just as I started my health kick four years ago, that my Grandmother Margaret should get the news that she had Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia.  Over the past four years I have seen her change from the independent, well turned out and intelligent woman I knew.  She is now cared for in a home, and to see her slowly decline has been very painful.  Alzheimer's is a cruel disease and I'm determined to spread the word about it whilst training for what will be one of the biggest challenges of my lifetime.  It seems fit that in my Grandmother's 80th year, I will be taking part in something I would imagine will be unforgettable (if only the pain of running it!).

Please give what you can, thank you very much!
