We are moving further, faster to help everyone affected by a brain tumour

Story

My uncle recently passed away from a very aggressive brain tumour. It was incredibly sudden and is a difficult loss for our family to bear.

I thought up this challenge as a way to test myself whilst raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity so they can continue to support cutting-edge research into brain tumour treatment. This is taken from their website: 'Survival rates for those with brain tumours have improved little in over 40 years. In fact, at just 14%, they're one of the poorest of all cancers. Treatments haven't changed in 40 years and brain tumours still remain the biggest cancer killer of children.' 100% of donations will go to this very worthy charity. All donations, whether big or small would be much appreciated.

Massive thanks to Intersport for their support of event logistics, printing of race T-shirts and supporter T-shirts and their generous donation to The Brain Tumour Charity.

I have completed many ultra marathon trail runs in China in the last two years including a 100km trail race with 5900 m total elevation gain. I have run the Guernsey loop twice before at a gentle pace of 7h10. Time for a bigger challenge ...

The challenge is to run this 60.3km coastal loop every day for a week to clock up 422km. This works out as exactly 10 marathons in distance and includes a daunting 3950 cliff path steps per loop. I will run the loop clockwise on Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun and anti-clockwise on Tue, Thu and Sat :)

Have a look at my blog for more details, for Live Tracking so you can run sections with me and for daily run updates: https://www.tinyurl.com/Blog-422Kin7  . Or join the Facebook event:  https://www.facebook.com/events/1252103618285776/

Disclaimer 1: As is the case in trail ultra-marathons, I will not be running continuously at all times due to the steep climbs and the lengthy race duration, but I will be running as much as I can!

Disclaimer 2: Due to the nature of this challenge there is a small risk that I may be forced to pull out before the week is finished due to injury. Fingers crossed this wont be the case!
