Story
Thank you for visiting my page. I am running 26 miles over moor and mountain with 1,730 metres of ascent to raise money for the Samaritans. Last year one of the young people in my family experienced a mental health crisis. They were one of the 1 in 6 young people in the UK suffering mental health issues in 2022. Every 7 seconds the Samaritans answer a call from a person feeling suicidal or struggling to cope. Just £5 funds a potentially life saving call. We are a year into our journey - it has been hard and heartbreaking at times but thanks to the amazing care we received from CAMHS, friends, family and work we have survived this most difficult of times. But it was the anonymous Samaritans volunteers at the end of the phone during those long, dark nights who, on more than one occasion, helped to save the future. I will never know who they were to be able to thank them. This marathon will be incredibly tough but I am inspired to do it to raise money to give back some of the life-saving support that the Samaritans provide day in, day out, universally and without question to whoever needs it. Thank you for taking time to read my story.
