Dan Godley - Run 40 for Pancreatic Cancer UK (on Chemotherapy!)

Run 40 in February Strava Challenge 2022 · 1 February 2022 to 28 February 2022 ·
My name is Dan Godley and I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at 28, to the surprise of both me and the doctors. I am currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Before the diagnosis, exercise was a huge part of my life. I had run a 35-mile ultra-marathon the week before I was first admitted to the hospital. I want to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK because they are providing so much support for me right now, and are an amazing charity. I figure I should be able to do 40 miles in a month, I used to average about 45 in a week!
It's unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within 3 months. Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers, yet for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case. Pancreatic Cancer UK is dedicated to taking on this injustice using every possible means. They're supporting people with pancreatic cancer now, campaigning, and funding vital research to transform the future. That's why I'm taking on this challenge - to help them make the breakthroughs that people with pancreatic cancer so desperately need.
