Nick's Run 4 Me Mum

Run 4 Me Mum · 25 November 2018
In the Autumn of 2018 my Mum, Ann Bartlett was diagnosed with lung cancer. Mum started Chemotherapy in November 2018 and now faces the biggest challenge of her life.
I want to do a challenge myself and give Mum something to take her mind off her treatment and send her positive energy whilst raising awareness of this disease, that may help others now and in the future.
This isn't about fundraising, however if we can raise a few quid for Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation at the same time then even better.
The Challenge:
I can't sing and I can't dance, but I can run... well sort of. I recently realised that my Mum's birthday, 13th January just happens to be the Half Marathon distance 13.1. So starting the week after her birthday on 20th January I aim to run 13 Half Marathons in 13 consecutive weeks. Over 170 miles between 20th January and 14th April.
My wonderful wife Cara will be supporting me and trying to run all the way. All I am asking for is that others in the running community will run some of this challenge with me! If you ran just 1 mile then that's great, if you want to run the whole lot then brilliant.
Of the 13 runs, 7 will be official races, with the remainder being social runs, naturally all runs will be a distance of 13.1 miles. If anyone, or any one running club would like to host one of the socials runs, this would be a great help and will save me having to plan a route and will make it much more enjoyable!
