Story
This year I am commemorating my mum's birthday by running a socially distanced half marathon with my friend/colleague Dave Speak who I've the pleasure of working with in the haematology department at RCHT. As he has so much experience as a long-distance runner and has Marshalled many events, he's kindly agreed to join me to officiate the challenge...at a 2 metre distance. Devon and Cornwall police have given us their blessing to do this event as we're following government guidelines on social distancing, there will be no crowds spurring us on or grand finish!
The staff at Cornwall care supported and cared for my mum for over a decade with her terminal illness, they do amazing work and continue to do so despite current challenges. So this year I want to mark her birthday by doing what she would have loved to....giving back to the wonderful care team that gave so much to her and our family.
All I'm asking is for the cost of a coffee or slice of cake, if everyone sponsored just a couple of pounds, you can help give so much back in memory of an incredible, funny, strong and very much missed mother and grandmother.
Thank you all ❤️❤️❤️
