Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are running the Great South Run 2012 on 28th October in honour of Steve, our friend and my (Heather’s) partner, who lived with MND for 2 years 7 months until March this year. Throughout his journey through MND, Steve treated this rapidly progressive, disabling, terminal illness exactly as it deserved, by cramming as much into his shortened life as possible, always making time for his friends and never losing his sense of humour.
The MND Association offers invaluable support to people living with MND, their friends and families. They provide somewhere to turn at the point of diagnosis, emotional support throughout the journey, practical advice and equipment to help people continue to live their lives, and so much more. They also fund invaluable research to get closer to finding a cure and to increase the knowledge of health and social care professionals to better support anyone affected by MND. We want to raise some money to help them continue this work.
Every donation makes a difference to a person living with MND.
- £10 could provide an information pack for a person newly diagnosed with MND
- £15 buys a specially adapted cutlery set
- £25 could run the MND connect support and information line for an hour
- £50 could pay for laboratory equipment for a day’s research
- £150 could fund an expert researcher for a day
- £300 could fund a respite care for a person with MND.
Steve knew of our running plans and was mildly amused at the thought of us pounding the streets to raise money, so please have a laugh with him and us too, and give any amount that you can…
Thank you so much
Heather, Clare and Fiona
