Story

My Challenge

I’m Ed Kerry. I hold a Guinness World Record and have trekked the Sahara, but still feel there’s more I could get out of my body. In August 2017, I’ll be running over 1,000 miles to raise awareness and money for The Brain Tumour Charity.

For Castle to Castle, I’ll run between the castles in all the UK and Ireland’s capital cities – from The Tower of London to Edinburgh Castle, Belfast Castle, Dublin Castle and Cardiff Castle, aiming to return to The Tower of London in a gruelling 22 days. The challenge is a way of raising as much money as possible for The Brain Tumour Charity and remembering my amazing sister Tracey, who sadly died in 2003.

When she passed away, Tracey was only 34 years of age. Over the last few months, I’ve not been able to stop thinking about the fact that this year I, too, will be 34. Having done smaller fundraising events, I now feel it’s time for me to really make a difference, and hopefully prevent someone else from experiencing what my family did 14 years ago.
