Story
Happy new year everyone!
In 2022 our family took a huge blow as we said goodbye to my Uncle Dave.
Uncle Dave was one of the most unique people I’ve ever come across, he had the natural ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face with just a few words. He could hold the attention of a crowd with his stories and the punchlines were always worth your time.
At just 53 years old Uncle Dave passed away after a long battle with cancer. The loss hit my dad especially hard as he lost not only his twin brother but also his best friend.
His wife Yvette, his daughter Jenna and his son Joe have all been incredible to witness. Despite their world changing so dramatically and their worst fears coming true, they still manage to pull together and continue to be a strong unit!
After the funeral I was left with the feeling that I wanted to do something to help. Although it may only be a small sacrifice, I want to help raise money to fight cancer.
In April I have signed up to do my first ever marathon. I’ve never ran that distance and I’m sure it’s going to be a huge challenge. I want to dedicate the marathon to my Uncle David and raise as much money as I can for Cancer Research.
I’ve added the link to my “Go fund me” page. Every single penny raised will be more appreciated than I can even put into words.
So, on behalf of me and my Uncle Dave, wish us luck as we take on this challenge together.
Thank you, Dan.
