We support Birmingham Children's Hospital to improve the lives of sick children

Story

I will leave it up to Poppy's parents Brian and Lisa Guilder to tell you what its all about as you will see I nicked the following off www.poppyfieldsappeal.co.uk "Our beautiful daughter, Poppy Guilder, was diagnosed with a large brain tumour in March 2004, when she was only 14-months old & has endured years of treatment with a smile on her face. We are grateful for every moment we have with our amazing daughter, who sparkles so much that she can light up a room full of people. Poppy really is a little star!

As a thanks for the excellent care that Poppy has received at Birmingham Children's Hospital 'Poppy Fields' was set up. To date we have raised over £110,000 & are continuing to support the hospital in its quest to save the lives of children with brain tumours.

Thank you for supporting our fundraising, for helping us to thank the people who saved our daughter's life & for caring."

Poppy is my niece and an inspiration. Paul, Sean, Carl, Paul, Gareth, Kate & John, Emily, James, Nicholas, Dave, Stacie and myself are going to roll back the years (20 or so for some of us) and run the Birmingham Half Marathon on Oct 24th 2010. Each penny donated will be fully appreciated with every gruelling step. Please feel free to give as much as you want - we will not be offended if its a huge amount and we have to revise our target upwards!

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
