Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the GNR again this year with my lovely Grandma at the heart of it. The training and build up brings with it new challenges 4 years and 2 kids later so any contribution, no matter how small, will be the motivation I need to stick to my training plan despite the inevitable lack of sleep and exhausting days running round after a toddler and baby.
What can I say about mags? After nursing her own mother through this tragic disease she herself was diagnosed quite a few years ago, but she has found her own little ways of coping and trying to keep her independence. Unfortunately this is becoming ever more difficult and it's heartbreaking to see her frustration and confusion when she is unable to do the things she loves, like travelling to America to see her daughter and grandchildren, and sometimes even forgetting their names. Anyone who has known me for a long time knows what a big part my Grandma has played in my life with most of my childhood memories being of days at the beach, board games, making cakes, school trips and piano performances with her. I can't do anything to prevent the inevitable deterioration this disease is going to bring, but by raising as much money as possible on this page to support the invaluable research and support The Alzhiemers society does, I am doing what I can.
