Many who know me will know of the journey we took to have a family, and not a day goes by that I am grateful for my luck in the live births of my two sons. But I am also incredibly lucky that they want for very little. They are safe from many harms, well fed, well educated and are free to run wild with their dreams. But millions and millions of children have barely anything compared to mine - they are at the behest of physical and verbal violence, the agony of separation from parents and family, and maybe the ravages of disease, hunger and starvation. They may even be caught up in the chaos of war and natural disasters - facing terrors none of us could bear for our own children. 

Unicef is a brilliant charity that works hard to ensure that as many children as possible are able to receive nourishment, vaccinations, education and protection. Any amount you can spare goes toward these undeniably admirable goals. 

This will be the furthest I have ever run - by a VERY long stretch - but I'm hoping my efforts will go toward alleviating even one child's suffering.
