Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am challenging myself to run the equivalent of 26 marathons (681.46 miles) to raise money for Macmillan.
I'm not doing this in one go, but aim to complete the distance over the course of a year. This effectively means running an average of 1.87 miles a day for 365 days.
I am raising money for Macmillan following the sad passing of my beautiful friend Laura Grace Harpin on 7th January 2013, following her battle with bowel cancer. From the time of her diagnosis in February 2012 to her passing, Laura was incredibly strong and had a positive outlook on life, and making the most of what was left of hers. She was supported in this by the Macmillan nurses, whose care at the local hospice allowed her to undergo chemotherapy at home, instead of spending weeks in hospitals, and ultimately meant that she was able to spend her last days at home surrounded by her friends and family.
Laura was just 26 years old when she passed away, so I am running one marathon for every year of her life.
People who know me will know that I DON'T RUN(!) so this is a big challenge and commitment for me to make. I really hope you can support me, be it with donations, or encouraging me by coming on runs with me / driving behind cracking a whip!
