One Special Day 2022 is here! The day when the video games industry and friends comes together to enable SpecialEffect to help more gamers with disabilities to play video games

Story

Games change lives!

The wonderful folks at Special Effect combine technology and their world leading expertise to maximise fun and quality of life by helping physically disabled people control video games to the best of their abilities. Their work is transformative, and remarkable and has a profoundly positive impact on improving confidence and levelling the playing field. They’re an incredibly talented group doing phenomenally awesome work.

To raise funds and to mark Special Effect’s 15th Anniversary and the One Special Day celebrations, two events will take place..

The first will see two teams will take on Run Mate 2022 - a 215km non-stop relay race around Lake Geneva.

The Race starts at 13:30pm on Saturday 24 Sept, with an estimated finish time of 10:30am on Sunday 25 Sept.

Each team member will proudly wear the EA SPORTS Special Effect jersey, running between a half and full marathon, through road and trial runs, starting and finishing in Montreux.

The second will see EA offices across Europe participate in a 5KM fun run on Friday 7th Oct. Sites including; Galway, Geneva, Guildford, Lyon, Madrid and Stockholm will all take part.

If you’re able to do so, the EA, RunMate and Special Effect team(s) would appreciate any donations. These will go directly towards supporting the remarkable work of Special Effect.

Thank you!
