Bupa Great North Run 2012 · 16 September 2012 ·
My Dad was diagnosed with MND in 2009 and as he deteriorated, the MNDA were an invaluable support, providing assistance with care and equipment that made everyday life easier.
He died on September 4th 2011 aged 53 after having MND for 2 and a half years. By the end, he had lost all use of his limbs and was unable to eat or speak. In his mind, he was fully aware of what was going on around him and what was happening to him and could communicate to us through blinking.
Emilie and I have entered the Great North Run on September 16th to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association to continue to support other families who have been affected by this awful disease.
This well-known half marathon will be challenging for us both so any donations you wish to make to support the charity will be much appreciated and will defiantly help to spur us on through our training and the race
Thank You
