Story

My dads best friend and running buddy of 30 years Alistair Jackson, known as Jacko  (pictured on the right, next to my dad Terry Avey) sadly passed away today 7th August 2020 from the evil that is cancer. Jacko did marathons and other races for over 30 years  and was a lovely friend, brilliant sportsman and a well loved competitor in the running community, so we want to run a half marathon on the 20th September 2020 in his memory and also hope to raise money for Cancer research.

My dad has done lots of long distance running however i have never actually done more than 7 miles so this is something I am very keen to conquer! We will be doing this by ourselves making our own 13 mile route because there are currently no official half marathons taking place locally. Please donate what you can to this wonderful charity, the more money raised will really spur me on to do a great time that Jacko would be proud of! Many thanks for reading and thank you in advance for any donations.
