Our Story
We lost our beloved Mum and Nan in July 2019.
Marion was the most generous and caring person you could imagine, she was devoted to her family above anything and always did everything within her power to put a smile on our faces. She was also an unwaveringly loyal friend, always thinking of other people and was there whenever anybody else needed her.
To all of our devastation- she was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease earlier in the year and declined very quickly. During all of this she kept her wonderful sense of humour and still found it within her to continue to ask and worry about other people.
She was an absolute inspiration to us all. So in her memory her family will be running 10k to raise money for Rennie Grove. The Rennie Grove nurses were an absolutely incredible support when we needed them, and we cannot imagine how we would have coped without them. Therefore, we want to raise money to enable them to continue to be there and give support to others who need it.
Those running are: Her Daughter Jo, Grandchildren: Ross, Justine and Cara (plus their partners Ellie, Ben and Scott).
About Rennie Grove: Rennie Grove Hospice Care is a registered charity offering services to support local patients diagnosed with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. By offering a 24-hour responsive hospice at home service in combination with other services such as day hospice and family support, we allow our patients to choose how and where they want to be cared for towards the end of life.
