Story
On 5/1/2018, my son Percy Theodore Deane was born asleep. We lost him at 21+5 weeks after my wife endured 12 hours of labour. Our lives and dreams were shattered and living with this has been the hardest thing I've ever done. We will always miss our beautiful boy, who's time on this world was far too short.
As terrible as our experience was, if it wasn't for the support and resources from Sands, it would have been far worse. Not only that, Sands is in its 40th year, working to raise awareness of the shocking fact that the UK has one of the highest stillbirth rates in the developed world. 15 babies die every day in the UK. I'm hoping that my contribution will help to change this.
Running for Percy will be tough for me. I have a hip condition, femoroacetabular impingement which means even more training and strengthening work to get to the end. But it'll be so worthwhile and an honour to run in memory of my beloved son.
Any donations that you can give, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
