5 Reasons why running as Elmo is a great idea:

• Sometimes you can get a bit cold waiting for the race to start
• The costume hides the fact you put on some weight in the last few weeks of training
• Friends and family can't pretend they couldn't spot you 
• At least a few spectators might know your name
• Neither Mo Farah nor Eliud Kipchoge has ever run dressed as Elmo (actually I don't think anyone has)...

5 Reasons why running as Elmo is a bad idea:

• Heat
• Chafing
• wind resistance
• risk of looking silly
• risk of dying looking silly

It's going to be the longest and toughest marathon I've ever run so be generous with your donations so that I don't get any thoughts about giving up!
