Story

Back in April I decided to start running to help raise funds for the UCL Amyloidosis Research Fund .

Amyloidosis is a group of rare but serious diseases caused by deposits of abnormal protein, called amyloid, in tissues and organs throughout the body.

The National Amyloidosis Centre based at the Royal Free Hospital in London conducts world leading research, into all aspects of these diseases.
As many of you may know,  my lovely mum Margaret Mason, has had a tough few years battling this disease and with the help of The National Amyloidosis Centre, The Bradford Royal Infirmary and St Luke’s Dialysis Unit her condition has improved dramatically.

To raise money and awareness I am going to run in a number of organised events and am asking people kindly to donate to this cause that has helped my mum so much over the past few years through sponsoring me in these challenges.

I have completed the following events so far:
Pudsey 10k
Leeds 10k
Cheshire - Arley Hall Half Marathon
The Stoop Fell Race
Chevin Chase Trail and Fell Race
Soreen Stanbury Splash Fell Race
Ilkley Moor Fell Race
Bradford Parkrun
Baildon Boundary Way - Half Marathon

The main event is Windermere marathon on the 17th May 2015. For anyone who is interested, I will keep you posted of all the events I am taking part in through the blog pages of my Running for Amyloidosis website.
