Story

I'm running the London marathon…again!

I am raising money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust in memory of my son William James Radley.

William was born, very poorly, on May 8th 2011. Unfortunately he died on 29th September 2011, he was less than 5 months old. When he was first born he was looked after with such skill and dedication by the staff in the NICU that, against all the odds, he survived and after 6 weeks became well enough to be transferred to Southampton General Hospital and have heart surgery to prolong his life further.

Emma, Eva and I shall be forever grateful to NICU, they gave William a chance and gave us an opportunity to know and love our wonderful little boy, and we hope that he knew his family that loved and cared for him deeply.

To support NICU and the expansion of their service I'm running the London marathon on the 21 April 2013. I'm still not a runner but I am a bit fitter than I was last year, and I’m not relishing the training during the cold and wet winter months. However, this is a small price to pay for the money raised in William’s memory.

Please, please donate to this wonderful cause and help give many more babies a chance of life.

Thank you for your support
