Story
Aaron’s employer, LCH.Clearnet, has an established Corporate Responsibility programme and as part of this have pledged a donation of £250 for this fund raising event - many thanks to them for their support.
Thanks also to everyone else who sponsored us - the weight of expectation (and promise of a few extra quid for a half decent time) really helped! It was really hard going but we both completed the half marathon - see below for our inspiration for running more than . Which is also more than 21km by the way. However you look at it, that is a really long way......
My beautiful friend Caroline died at the end of June from Ovarian Cancer. Her family have asked that donations in her memory be given to Ovarian Cancer Action which is a charity that campaigns for better awareness of the disease and funding for more research into improving treatment. Its main aim is to improve survival rates for women which, for this type of cancer, are pretty low. For more information please go to their website: http://www.ovarian.org.uk
Caroline was diagnosed less than a year ago and died aged 35, leaving a 3 year old son – as well as so many family members and friends who will always love and miss her. Caroline’s family have said that she was passionate about improving awareness of ovarian cancer – so if you could forward the weblink above to all the women you know and encourage them to look at the ‘Remember the Symptoms’ campaign, that would be great.
If you are also able to donate some money that would be really fantastic - it is not too late as this page will stay open for 3 months! Thank you, Suzanne and Aaron, xxx P.S. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
