Story

‘The running for Russ team are back for 2021! We are taking on the challenge again this year to raise money for the Headlight Project in memory of our Russ, still loved and missed everyday by us all.

Catherine, along with Joanne & Andy Ruffell, Suzanne Julian, Reuben & Tracey Hanlon, Helen Brown, Niall Bradley, Joanne Blackham, Paul Julian, Sarya Gaughan, Michelle Bardgett, Claire Cantwell and Allan Johnson will be completing the Great North Run in Newcastle this Year. Also joining us in memory of Will Alexander are his dad, Chris and Emily Johnson.

Its been a difficult year for everyone and we hope to raise funds for the Headlight Project so that we can keep our team doing the amazing work they do..... working with children in schools to teach about mental health and provide play therapy and one to one counselling support, and supporting adults by providing various therapies, including trauma and bereavement support.

Special good luck goes to our Suzanne who will be running the GNR this year, her longest distance yet, and after being treated for breast cancer during lock down. She is a star!

The Headlight Project, providing a guiding light when the road ahead is dark......

Thank you for your support🙏🏻🧡

The Russ Devereux Headlight Project was founded in memory of Russell Devereux by his wife Catherine. Russ tragically died by suicide on 6 May 2018 age 41 leaving behind three young children. The aim of the project is to work with children, delivering emotional resilience programmes in schools. The Project also offers play therapy for children and one to one counselling for both children and adults and has a particular focus on helping families bereaved by suicide.
