Story

We're going to East Africa to learn. Why are 66 of the world's 100 best marathon runners Kenyan? Why is physical activity normal. How many neck bones does a giraffe have, and what's its blood pressure? We will meet incredible champions, and people suffering in pain. We will take on epic challenges.

Some of us will run Mt Kilimanjaro in a day, others Mt Longonot, but the challenges and rewards will be significant. Some of us will work in local hospitals, and train nurses to treat pain at the end of life - and help get medicines to people in need.  Please give generously or tell the world about this adventure.

About the charity

The African Palliative Care Association (APCA) works with healthcare providers throughout Africa to relieve the pain and suffering of people with terminal illnesses. By improving palliative care provision APCA helps transform the lives of many men, women and children suffering as a result diseases such as AIDS and cancer. Our mission is to ensure every patient receives the care they need to lead a full life and, when the time comes, to have a pain free and dignified death.
