To fund intensive early intervention for Sacha, to help him overcome a rare genetic disorder.

Story

Well now, I’m running the 2020 Hastings Half Marathon as part of Team Sacha to raise money for therapies for Sacha, my friends' 2-year-old son. Sacha has a rare genetic disorder 2q37 deletion syndrome, which means he's likely to grow up with cognitive and physical difficulties. Since he was diagnosed in 2018 his parents have been crowdfunding early-intervention therapies that the NHS is simply unable to provide.

Sacha started having intensive therapy when he was one and completely unable to move. After his first treatment he was able to stand; following his second he took his first steps; with his third he became more confident and engaged. He is literally a walking demonstration of the life-changing effectiveness of intensive early intervention, but there is still a long way to go. We are thus fundraising for Just4Children to keep this remarkable path of development going for another year.
