Rio is Running the Bath Half Marathon!!!
Ok, so he isnt running, hes being pushed by the fantastic "Team Rio" to raise money in aid of TIME IS PRECIOUS (IN MEMORY OF BEN HALFORD) and every donation will help.

Team Rio will consist of Rio's Mummy Kim, Daddy Anthony, Uncle Mark, Friends Kate, Simon, Daisy & Lara, Cousin Kim and his Community Nurse Vicki.

Rio has been in and out of hospital since birth, he suffered a huge bowel perforation at just 1 day old. Once he recovered from emergency surgery, he started having difficulties breathing, over the following year, after countless illnesses, ambulance rides and hospital admissions, it was discovered that he had a rare heart defect which meant an artery was in the wrong  place and was crushing his windpipe, essentially strangling him. He received life changing cardiothoratic surgery to rectify this, although it will take time for him to fully recover as the compression  to his airway was extremely severe. He is still vulnerable and has an amazing team around him to ensure he is safe.
Rio's condition has also led to a lot of issues with feeding and he often chokes and after 18 months of tube feeding he is finally learning to eat and drink .
Rio also has Down Syndrome, meaning he has even more appointments in hospital for things like speech and language, Occupational therapy and physiotherapy. 
During this very busy 2 years, the local hospitals have been almost a 2nd home to our family. Having access to the facilities, equipment and toys provided by "time is precious" have made our stays and appointments much easier. Not only for Rio, but for our older son Felix, who now actually asks to go to hospital because he loves all of the toys there! 

The aim of  Time is Precious " is to help create a more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for children and their families in hospital or at home.

The charity works alongside specialists to purchase equipment and refurbish areas to support not just those children who because of illness or disability find themselves in hospital for treatment but also their families who want to be with them because time is just that precious."
