2010 British 10K London run · 11 July 2010 ·
We write to inform you that the 'From
Boyhood to Manhood Foundation (FBMF)' was setup in 1996. It is a UK
registered charity (Charity Reg. no: 1107977) & Company limited by
Guarantee (Company no. 5157653) based in London. Since its inception 14 years
ago the organization has helped approximately 500,000 young people. 90% have
gained further academic qualifications and all have had the opportunity to
re-assess their attitudes, behavior and direction in life.
FBMF’s aims and objectives are to transform
the lives of disadvantaged and disaffected youth. The advancement of education,
training or retraining, particularly among unemployed or socially excluded
young people. The promotion of good citizenship, public safety and the
prevention of crime.
FBMF delivers a range of support services and
outreach programs that focus on the needs of disadvantages and disaffected
young people from London Boroughs. FBMF has developed a prominent positive
national reputation working with young people. FBMF takes the lead role within the
voluntary sector tackling issues surrounding youth, education and crime.
We are pleased to inform you that we would like to
expand our project in India as our proposed project has been very successful in
the UK and Europe, Jamaica and in Ghana.
Our proposed project is an educational resource program that aims to challenge and educate young people on their assumptions and attitude towards violence and weapons. The project promotes good citizenship, responsibility, dealing with emotion and anger, respecting and celebrating differences in others and community cohesion.
This educational project involves working closely with the police to bridge the gap between the community and the law enforcement in an effect to combat crime. It also includes Ministry of Education, Ministry of National Security and National Training Institutes.
The project seeks to reduce re-offending
rates, anti-social behavior, crime and violence in schools, in care facilities,
penal, detention centers, and young offender’s institutions or prisons and in
the communities by increasing the citizenship skills of young people (10 – 25
years) participating in and graduating from, the program. In order
to quantify the worth of preventative programs, the project also seeks to monitor
and evaluate the efficacy of the program through central administration,
collation and dissemination of progress of program participants over 3 year
pilot period. Based on results of pilot, program will be extended to
target all schools and communities at risk, bringing about significant
reductions in crime amongst youth in India.
Therefore, we are needed to raise fund all over
the world & Rupak and other volunteers
from India have agreed to participate in the British 10K London Run on behalf
of the From Boyhood to Manhood Foundation to raise fund and support this youth
welfare project in India.
We expect Sponsorships/Donations to cover there expenses.
This amount will directly help for project in India.
In returns, your sponsorship/donation will be highly appreciated and acknowledged.
Many thanks for your support in this matter.
