Story
I have driven, cycled, and walked past the QEF centres and shops in Surrey for years, so when Dave suggested that we rider the London 100 to support them and I jumped the chance. I also felt that I some unfinished business with the London 100, after taking part last year in stormy condition when the route was shortened and hilly parts removed.
For those of you that don't know much about QEF they provide incredible rehabilitation and support services for those with serious brain injuries or learning disabilities. They have been playing their vital role in the community since and 1932 and the late Queen mother asked for the charity to bear her name in 1934. You can read more about the work they do, their plans for a new state of the art centre near Leatherhead, at their website (http://qef.org.uk/about-us/).
I'm shooting to get around in under 4 hours and 30 mins. No stops to dry off or eat croissant like last year! I will post a link to Twitter and Facebook on the day so you can follow my progress. Will most likely post a start and finish line selfie as well.
Will also be numbing the aches and pains with a few beers in Wimbledon Village afterwards, and watching the professionals (Sir Brad, Cavendish, etc) race through and show how it is really done.
Thank you for your support for QEF (and me).
**I'm matching all donations up to £600 as I have to confess that I will enjoyment and it is all bit last minute.**
