In 2016 Henry was born to two of our greatest friends. He was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. Spina bifida left him with an open spinal lesion which was operated on on day two of his life, and when he was two weeks old he had a ventricular shunt installed to manage the hydrocephalus. He had a number of further surgeries during his first few months, but despite all of his challenges he is a cheerful and happy little boy with a great sense of fun - much loved by his brother and sister

Shine has offered huge support to Henry and his family. Shine provides specialist support from before birth and throughout the life of anyone with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. Throughout Henry's challenges and the difficult times his family have faced, Shine has offered fantastic support to them all.
