We are a group of dads who, for the past few years, have tackled some triathlons under the guise of our own triathlon club, Rushcliffe Tri Club or RTC for short. This summer sees our biggest test yet - a full Ironman distance triathlon consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike rounded off with a full marathon! The time limit is 17 hours and individually we all have our target times ranging from 12-14 hours.
One Dad who sadly won't be competing in the Outlaw Triathlon with us is Tim Dunne. Very sadly on 28th July 2016 Tim passed away whilst out cycling with his son Louis, also a talented triathlete, on holiday in Majorca. Tim was a good friend and was always incredibly supportive of all our endeavours, having been a seasoned triathlete himself. He also had a zest for life which was unparalleled and this has spurred us on to do something in his memory.
We all want to celebrate Tim's life and his passion for sport in general and triathlon in particular, and at the same time raise some money for charity. We have chosen to support the British Heart Foundation as Tim died due to a heart condition. We would all really appreciate any donation you are able to make and thank you in advance for helping us remember our friend.
