Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2015 I raised £1200 for Meningitis Now by running the London Marathon. I was very fortunate that many of my friends and family (and even a couple we met on the tube) decided to sponsor me, although I do not expect anyone to feel they need to again.

The motivation for my fundraising is because Isabella was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis in 2014, when she was just 18 months old. She was very brave and we have been unbelievably lucky and we can look back now and realise more and more just how serious this illness can be.

Many children and families are not as fortunate as we have been and we will never forget the medical treatment and support Bella and our family received. Meningitis Now are vital in ensuring more and more families can share a positive story following a very dark time. This was taken from their website and sums up what they are trying to achieve with the help of very kind and generous individuals:

Thirty Incredible years and still fighting hard
As we enter our 30th anniversary year, we remain committed to the fight against meningitis. We won’t rest until we achieve our vision of a future where no one in the UK loses their life to meningitis and everyone affected gets the support they need to rebuild their lives

Me and a band of brothers are trying to break the team record for completion of the National Three Peaks in the quickest time possible. On Sunday 17th July we will climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, a total of 2408m.

Any help and any amount of money will make a difference. Thank you for taking the time to look at my page and my sincere gratitude to anyone who chooses to donate,

Thank you

Russ
